US State Department officials no longer seem to be denying that contents of the US Embassy cables released by WikiLeaks recently are true. More so, during a Nov. 30 US Department of State daily press briefing, Assistant Secretary Philip J. Crowley said “everyone understands who is responsible for the release of these documents.” <\/p>\n

“It is an individual within the United States Government who is under investigation, and more broadly it is the WikiLeaks organization that has chosen to release these documents to others who are not authorized to have them,” he said, as reported on the US State Department official website. <\/p>\n

Furthermore, Crowley admitted that this is “a serious situation.”<\/p>\n

“We are going to do everything possible to minimize the impact of this. We are committed to continue to engage countries around the world, whether it\u2019s Turkey, other countries. Our relationships are still guided by national interests and mutual interests. Our relationships are guided by mutual respect.
