The 100,000 Dram banknote released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia in 2009 won second place in the 2010 Best New Banknote Currency Award organized by the International Association of Currency Affairs (IACA).<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Participating in the 2010 Excellence in Currency Awards apart from Armenia were Korea, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Paraguay, Macau, Tunisia, and Scotland, of which the best new banknote series award was determined.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Scotland\u2019s Clydesdale Bank was the winner of the hotly contested Best New Banknote Series Award. Apart from the Central Bank of Armenia, a runner-up award also went to the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey for the new series which completed the currency reform started in 2005.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The IACA awards were launched in 2007 to promote and recognize excellence in currency production, processing, management and distribution. They are open to any organisation or individual supplying products, services or systems for currency production or management. The IACA awards committee draws up a shortlist of three nominations in each category, and IACA members vote for the winners.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
