The longest seaside boulevard will be built in the Georgian resort town of Batumi. The new boulevard will be 20 km in length and will end in the village of Kvariati and will pass through the village of Gonio, which was a military point at one time. A recreation area and entertainment center will also be built along the boulevard.<\/p>\n

According to Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, the project will support the exceeding number of tourists in Georgia’s Adjara region.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The number of tourists in Adjara has already exceeded 400 thousand. This is an absolute record. With this kind of speed we will be able to attract around 900 thousand guests that will bring about 1.5 billion GEL [about $819.5 million USD] to the Georgian budget.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“These funds will be intended for the local population \u2014 to help them open cafes and family hotels and create new jobs. It will also support the further development of trade and agriculture. We have achieved positive results in Adjara and in the next year we may have double or even more tourists here,\u201d said Saakashvili, reports Messenger.com.ge.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the Georgian president, Batumi’s boulevard must be the biggest and the most beautiful in Europe, reports Georgia Online.\u00a0<\/p>\n
