The programme and speaker line-up for this year\u2019s Moshito Music Conference and Exhibition is set to get South Africa\u2019s music business talking with its mix of contentious, topical and informative sessions, reads a news release on the official Moshito website.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The three-day event \u2013 which takes place from September 1\u20133 at Museum Africa in Newtown, Joburg \u2013 tackles several key issues facing the domestic music industry head-on through a conference programme that doesn\u2019t shy away from hot topics.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

One of these is the Breakaway session \u201c360 Degree Deals: Threat or Opportunity,” while another essential session is \u201cCopyright or Copyleft\u201d which explores the debates around digital copyright from both a domestic and international perspective.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Also in the spotlight is a look back at the 2010 FIFA World Cup \u2013 and, in particular, the opportunities (or not) that eventually materialized for artists. Another topic that is bound to get local musicians talking is an examination of why it\u2019s so difficult to get music videos played on television in South Africa as well as the topic which looks at the role of DJs in getting music out to fans.<\/p>\n

Digital music trends again make-up a significant part of the Moshito 2010 programme \u2013 among them a briefing on the \u2018Leading Trends In Digital Music\u2019 on the opening day and a look a \u2018Music, Mobile and Gadgets: How Can The Music Industry Help Maximise The Potential of The Mobile And Download Market\u2019.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s conference again features an expo section as well as a number of free live showcase events.\u00a0<\/p>\n
