The Russian government hopes that the Muslim community will play a decisive role in the country’s fight against terrorism. Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said this during a meeting with the Grand Mufti of Russia Rawil Gaynetdin, commenting on the recent bombing in Vladikavkaz.<\/p>\n

“We hope that that Russia’s Muslim community will have its decisive contribution in this struggle. I know how Muslims relate to such extremists,” he said.<\/p>\n

Thursday morning’s attack devastated the main market in the capital of North Ossetia, part of Russia’s troubled North Caucasus region. The blast is the latest in a series of terrorist attacks that have rocked the troubled North Caucasus region in recent weeks, including a suicide attack on a military base in Dagestan, RIA Novosti reports.<\/p>\n
