On the eve of Sept. 14,\u00a0 Israeli political leader Avigdor Eskin, who was not even allowed to leave the plane, was deported from Tbilisi, reports Novosti Georgia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The Israeli political scientist had gone to Tbilisi to take part in the roundtable ‘Identity and Globalization: Challenges and Prospects’,” said Chair of the Society of Erekle the Second Archil Chkoidze at a specially called in press conference.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Representatives of the Society protested such action on the part of Tbilisi’s authorities and demanded an explanation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“It should be noted that Eskin has never spoken against Georgia; more so, when Georgians were being deported from Russia, he supported the Georgian people. The fact that he was denied entry into Georgia has a political basis,” says Chkoidze.<\/p>\n

The organizers of the roundtable are concerned that local authorities might prohibit other roundtable participants from entering Georgia.<\/p>\n

“We are expecting participants from Armenia and Russia, and we think that the same thing will be repeated in their case.
