From Sept. 15\u201317, the natural gas supply to Armenia and Georgia will cease, due to prophylactic works carried out by Gazprom transgaz Stavropol LLC on the North Caucasus\u2013Transcaucasus gas pipeline, according to a press release issued by ArmRosGazprom.\u00a0<\/p>\n

ArmRosGazprom also notes that stopping the gas supply won’t have an effect on the consumer market, since Abovyan’s underground fuel reserve system resources will be used. The underground resources in the Armenian town of Abovyan can secure Armenia’s gas needs for 1 to 1.5 months.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Earlier, RA Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated that talks on the price of gas imported by Armenia from Russia will be completed in the coming months.<\/p>\n

Recall that on April 1, 2010, the price of natural gas in Armenia increased by 37.5%. For companies that use more than 10,000 cubic meters of gas, the price went up by 13%, which resulted in the price of gas for 1,000 cubic meters to be $243.13 USD, as compared to $215 USD previously.<\/p>\n
