The agreement between Russia and Azerbaijan in which gas supplied to Russia will increase to 1 billion cubic meters this year and up to 2 billion cubic meters next year will not affect the volume of gas supplied through Nabucco, said Nabucco Gas Pipeline International GmbH Managing Director Reinhard Mitschek in an interview with 1news.az.<\/p>\n

He also noted that Nabucco won’t make any major changes in the volume of gas supplied to Europe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“However, this is an alternative source of supply, so it will have an effect on the market itself, serving as its diversification,” he said.<\/p>\n

According to Mitschek, Nabucco will have an impact on pricing, competition and other market parameters. “It’ll be beneficial for Azerbaijan and for Europe,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
