Armenia’s Communist Party has always been an advocate of friendship with Russia and considers the extension of Russia’s military base in Armenia to be one of the most successful steps by Armenia’s ruling authorities, said head of the Communist Party of Armenia Ruben Tovmasyan at a press conference today.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“The generation of the last 20 years considers itself to be the most intelligent,” he said, referring to certain individuals’ opinions that Russia will destroy Armenia.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Tovmasyan referred to history and noted that at one time, it was only through Russia’s forces that Armenia was able to stand on its feet. Journalists who attempted to say the contrary received the following response:<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“Anti-communist hysteria could’ve been like this or could’ve been like that… it could’ve been. This is anti-communist hysteria, which was borne in 1848, after the corresponding work written by Karl Marx,” mentioned Tovmasyan resentfully.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
He also recalled World War II, saying that in 116 days, all of Europe fell to its knees.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“If it weren’t for the Soviet forces and all of the Soviet people standing up for socialist ideology, there wouldn’t be a Europe today,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
On this matter, after listening to an argument by a journalist, who said that many today are reaching toward Europe, the Communist Party leader said:<\/p>\n
