On the occasion of the 19th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia, US President Barack Obama sent a congratulatory note to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.<\/p>\n

“Dear Mr. President, the United States joins you and all Armenians in celebrating Armenia’s Day of Independence, Sept. 21.<\/p>\n
“On this occasion, we express our appreciation and respect for the spirit of the Armenian people and their achievements all over the world.<\/p>\n
“The United States is proud of the historic ties and friendship between our countries and values the contributions of so many Americans of Armenian ancestry. <\/p>\n
