At the 13th Russian Art Festival in Cannes, Charles Aznavour was given an award “for outstanding contribution to strengthening cultural ties between Russia and France.<\/p>\n

The Russian-language publication Arguments and Facts spoke with the French chansonnier of Armenian origin on this matter.<\/p>\n

Aznavour noted that Russia has great significance for him.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

“My dad was a cook in a restaurant where they prepared Russian dishes. Rather, the restaurant was Caucasian, but Russian cuisine dominated [the menu], authentic Russian cuisine, which today no longer exists. And not only because the recipes are lost, but also because the [necessary] ingredients don’t exist.
