With the new budget, the funds allocated to different sectors will significantly increase, said RA Minister of Finance Tigran Davtyan while speaking to journalists today.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The resources allocated to the Ministry of Culture will increase by about 15%, healthcare allocations will increase by 9 billion AMD, and resources allocated to science and education, which will go toward construction of schools along with other purposes, will also be increased. Large funds will also be allocated to the defense sector \u2014 the finance minister did not provide details regarding this issue.<\/p>\n

According to Davtyan, supplementary funds will be allocated as well to increasing pension payments. Starting from November, pension payments will increase by 12%. Those who have lost funds in savings accounts (guaranteed by the Central Bank of Armenia) will continue to receive payments. Next year, 1.6 billion AMD will be allocated to these funds next year \u2014 more than what was allocated in 2008 before the global economic crisis.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Also increasing will be assistance funds allocated to Nagorno-Karabakh.<\/p>\n

According to the finance minister, teachers’ salaries will increase slightly next year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“We planned an increase in salaries for those sectors that have few resources, for example, culture, science, and so on,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
