Armenia’s Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) Armen Harutyunyan, at a press conference today, presented the complaints his office has received in the last 9 months.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Ombudsman’s office received 2,272 complaint-appeals, 857 of which were in writing. Out of these, 43 were collective complaint-appeals, which included 910 applicants. In the noted period, 3,140 individuals in total submitted complaint-appeals to the office, of which 1,725 were in writing. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Thirty-eight complaint-appeals were resolved favorably, as a result of which the violated rights of 256 individuals were reinstated.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
During the first 9 months of this year, 702 letters were sent from the Ombudsman’s office to state agencies. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Harutyunyan also presented the statistics of written complaint-appeals submitted against state and local authorities.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The top state bodies that the Ombudsman’s office received complaints of were Yerevan City Hall (372 written complaint-appeals), village mayors’ offices (169), the police (113), the courts (113), and the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (99).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
