As a result of changes to the RA Law on TV and Radio, 22 TV stations currently on air will be cut down to 18. This means that 4 TV stations will have their licenses revoked, which of course begs the question: which TV station will have its license revoked?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

At a press conference today, member of the Supreme Body of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun, or ARF-D) Spartak Seyranyan and two editors of ARF-D publications were asked whether Yerkir Media, considered the ARF-D’s mouthpiece, would be one of the TV stations whose license would be revoked.<\/p>\n

“We are principally against the closure of any media agency for subjective reasons, [and] political reasons. We don’t know the details now, but it would be desirable that all public expressions be reported,” said Los Angeles\u2013based daily Asbarez Armenian Editor Apo Boghikian.\u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Seyranyan, in turn, assured that Yerkir Media won’t be shut down and they are providing such services today which, according to the ARF-D member, the selection committee would hardly want to give up. \u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
