It’s been a long time that the media has not been allowed to visit Nairi Hunanyan in the Yerevan-Kentron (“Center”) penitentiary. Recall that Nairi Hunanyan was one of the gunmen who stormed Armenia’s parliament on Oct. 27, 1999, killing eight officials, including prime minister Vazgen Sargsyan and parliamentary speaker Karen Demirchyan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It’s also been a few years since Nairi Hunanyan’s relatives were able to see him. Yesterday, a correspondent with local daily Hraparak (“Square,” a gathering place) asked Minister of Justice Gevorg Danielyan when they could meet with Hunanyan.\u00a0<\/p>\n
