“The Azerbaijani-Armenian community, being the successor to the Soviet Armenian heritage, in the near future, plans to appeal to Nagorno-Karabakh (NKR) with a request to transfer to us seven liberated territories, with the Lachin capital, with the aim of establishing an independent and sovereign Republic of Azerbaijani-Armenians, and to hold there free and democratic presidential and parliamentary elections,” said Assembly of Azerbaijani Armenians NGO President Grigory Ayvazyan at a press conference today, not excluding the possibility that the newly independent republic, through a referendum, might join the NKR or the Republic of Armenia.<\/p>\n

“Here today we announce the indivertible beginning of the creation of the independent republic in the South Caucasus, in the region,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to him, they are not asking for handouts; rather, they are asking to have transferred to them that which is lawfully theirs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The outcast Azerbaijani-Armenian community does not recognize and will never recognize the legitimacy of the upcoming Nov. 7 elections in Azerbaijan.
