The OSCE Minsk Group withdrawing from its role as mediator in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict today would lead to escalation of the conflict, said Baku-based political analyst Rasim Aghayev.\u00a0<\/p>\n

At the same time, he said, at one time Azerbaijan had shown some slack \u2014 allowing France to participate in the OSCE Minsk Group.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“All the Minsk Group countries, in one form or another, have a pro-Armenian position. For centuries, the United States has been trying to solve the Armenian Genocide issue in Yerevan’s favor, despite having friendly relations with Turkey.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“France generally considers Armenia its second, small homeland. And well, speaking of the ties between Armenia and Russia is unnecessary: they’re not just partners, but allies,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“Contradictions between Russia and the United States are deeper and they could be made use of, so if there’s anyone extra here, it’s France,” said Aghayev.\u00a0<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“If the Minsk Group leaves or dissolves its work, Armenia will certainly begin to acquire firearms. They will have nothing left to do, and coming to Armenia’s aid here will be Russia, no doubt,” concluded the analyst.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
