Armenian National Congress (HAK) representative Davit Shahnazaryan considers Armenia recognizing the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh to be a wrong move. At a press conference in Yerevan today, the HAK member said such a move would not be of any use.<\/p>\n

“It can be a serious blow to the Minsk Group process, which is Azerbaijan’s wish \u2014 to overthrow that process,” he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Shahnazaryan said that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a common interest: in this case, Armenia’s “ruling authorities or the opposition, it doesn’t matter.”<\/p>\n

“If this issue was raised in [Armenia’s] National Assembly for discussion and wasn’t approved, it’ll amount to difficult moral and political damage,” he said, while advising the Heritage Party parliamentary faction, which put forth the resolution in Armenia’s parliament to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh’s independence, not to allow the issue to make it to a vote.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
