Considering the change in weather, Swiss-Austrian company Garaventa Doppelmayer Group employees, who are currently working on the “Wings of Tatev,” the newly opened aerial tramway in the village of Tatev in Armenia’s Syunik marz (province), have announced a four-day break on tramway construction work.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The tramway won’t be operational until Saturday, which is due to the need to move to winter mode. The work is carried out according to schedule. Overall, the equipment is in working condition, and it’s necessary to do this work twice a year, when moving to a winter or summer work schedule,” said Wings of Tatev tramway manager Tigran Ghazaryan, according to a press release issued by the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Wings of Tatev reversible passenger aerial tramway was built in 11 months by the Swiss-Austrian Garaventa Doppelmayer Group. It was officially launched on Oct. 16, though open to the general public from Oct. 23. Recently, a Guinness World Records adjudicator evaluated and certified that the tramway, at 5.752 meters, is indeed the world’s longest reversible aerial tramway.\u00a0<\/p>\n
