The most important thing is to have “normal elections,” so that residents can be sure that elections were free, fair and transparent, said Armenian National Congress (HAK) member Vladimir Karapetyan at a press conference today.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“They’re not raising salaries, the social situation is getting worse, Armenia’s isolation continues, and in this case, 10\u201315%, which the ruling party has to gather, using the full ruling resources, is only that,” he said.<\/p>\n

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) MP Hovhannes Sahakyan, in turn, urged all political parties: “The elections not yet begun, let’s not begin to reprimand [one another, as well as the electoral process].”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“We have to create an environment of trust for the public and not go out into the streets early on with banners and flags and say that electoral fraud is going to happen,” said Sahakyan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Noting that HAK doesn’t inform its plans only through rallies and always states its approaches, Karapetyan said, “Our work is carried out on a daily basis and not only at rallies.”<\/p>\n

Speaking on Armenia’s Election Code, the HAK representative stressed that the ruling authorities will manifest political will and it will be visible for the population only “when there is no doubt for anyone in the world and particularly in Armenia that there are political prisoners in Armenia.”<\/p>\n
