Rule of Law (“Orinats Yerkir,” OEK) party member, MP Heghine Bisharyan considers Armenia’s domestic situation to be “active” and interesting. Armenia has entered into “quite an active” political period, which makes it possible to reveal existing problems in society, said the parliamentarian at a press conference in Yerevan today.<\/p>\n

“I am in support of there being a strong, powerful opposition in the country. It forces the government to work better,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Asked by a journalist whether OEK will be running independently in the 2012 parliamentary elections or whether it will be backing another party, Bisharyan said her party will run independently and, in her opinion, will have a significant seat in the National Assembly (Armenia’s parliament).<\/p>\n

However, Bisharyan mentioned that in the 2013 presidential elections, OEK will be backing current president Serzh Sargsyan.<\/p>\n

Asked by Epress.am whether she isn’t waiting for a political force majeure situation and a rearrangement of political forces in Armenia, Bisharyan said:<\/p>\n

“I can’t imagine such a thing, I can’t imagine how such a thing would happen.”<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
