Georgia’s main goal is to become a member of the European Union and to be part of Europe, said Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili at a joint press conference with European Commission President Jos\u00e9<\/span> Manuel Barroso in Brussels.<\/p>\n

According to statistics data, Georgia delegation visit Brussels twice more than any other country leaders. I don\u2019t think warm weather is the reason for that. I reckon they are more glad with concrete negotiation results,” he said.<\/p>\n

I hope one day Georgia will have visa-free regime with EU, continued the Georgian president. Two years ago the EU gave a pledge that a simplified visa regime would be imposed with Georgia and EU kept the promise, he said, reports InterPressNews Georgia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a rather tough procedure and we are grateful to you for that. Now it\u2019s much easier for Georgians to travel in Europe. I hope one day we will have visa-free regime,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The free trade agreement is also of great importance, he added.<\/p>\n

The Georgian leader hopes Georgia will fulfill its obligations and if negotiations are a success, the plan will be implemented in several months to come. <\/p>\n

\u201cEurope is a Georgian choice. We have no other option. I hope Europe will value this and will consider Georgia not only a partner but also a plenipotentiary member of the Union.
