No major changes in the weather are expected in the coming week, said head of the Armenian State Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Service Zaruhi Petrosyan at a press conference in Yerevan today.<\/p>\n

According to her, temperature highs in the valley will continue to remain at a balmy 22 degrees Celsius, while in the plains of Ararat, it will be 16 to 18 degrees. Many Yerevan residents would agree that the weather these days has felt more like fall than winter weather.<\/p>\n

“The temperature in the marzes [provinces] of Syunik, Lori and Tavush dropped 8\u201310 degrees, but beginning from Dec. 5, the cold air front will retreat, and degrees of 22\u201323 is expected in these areas. Weather without precipitation is expected in the entire territory [of Armenia] for this period… The average daily temperature these days is up by 7\u20138 degrees. The month is considered already to be a large deviation from the norm,” said Petrosyan. <\/p>\n

The winter, according to the meteorologist, will be within the limits of normal temperatures.<\/p>\n

“Until Dec. 13, weather without precipitation will be registered, after which the likelihood that the main amount of precipitation this month will fall on the second half of December is not excluded. Monthly temperatures in January\u2013February will again be close to norms.
