The Armenian side in Astana received that which it expected, said MP Gagik Melikyan at a press conference in Yerevan today. He also considers RA President Serzh Sargsyan’s speech in Astana to be “important and exceptional” in terms of if the talks fail and the conflicting parties to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict cannot reach a settlement and Azerbaijan seeks a military resolution then Armenia will recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent republic. <\/p>\n

“I think that that’s not a threat from us and it’s our wish,” said Melikyan.<\/p>\n

Another participant in today’s press conference, MP Vardan Khachatryan, in turn, said before the OSCE Summit in Astana from Dec. 1\u20132, there weren’t threats where radical change could happen. <\/p>\n

Khachatryan also considered the Armenian president’s address to be positive. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
According to him, Azerbaijan, after its bellicose remarks; nevertheless, “went back somehow, since one of its officials said that negotiations will continue within the frames of the OSCE Minsk Group.”<\/p>\n
