The refutation that was published by local daily Jamanak (“Times”) today connected to recent reports on the Kocharian family cannot be considered disproof from a legal perspective, second president of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharian’s press spokesperson Viktor Soghomonyan told Epress.am. Soghomonyan noted that such a viewpoint was formed as a result of consulting with the Kocharian family’s attorneys.<\/p>\n

“A refutation has a clear way of being formulated, which doesn’t correspond with what was printed in Jamanak. This also proves their current stories on the Kocharian family. Jamanak, instead of threatening, would be better not to print false information,” said Kocharian’s spokesperson. <\/p>\n

Soghomonyan also noted that the amount that’s requested from Jamanak as compensation will be completely donated to orphanages in Armenia or the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.<\/p>\n

“If I’m not mistake, compensation of 6 million drams [over $16,500 US] is being requested,” he said. <\/p>\n
