{"id":55611,"date":"2011-01-18T11:23:52","date_gmt":"2011-01-18T07:23:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=55611"},"modified":"2011-01-18T11:23:52","modified_gmt":"2011-01-18T07:23:52","slug":"armenia-prepared-to-be-resolute-if-azerbaijan-opts-for-military-adventure-in-karabakh-sargsyan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/01\/18\/armenia-prepared-to-be-resolute-if-azerbaijan-opts-for-military-adventure-in-karabakh-sargsyan.html","title":{"rendered":"Armenia Prepared to be &#8216;Resolute&#8217; if Azerbaijan Opts for Military &#8216;Adventure&#8217; in Karabakh: Sargsyan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, speaking at the Republic of Cyprus House of Representatives, touched upon Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia-Turkey relations.<\/p>\n<p>During his speech, on the matter of Nagorno-Karabakh, Sargsyan said, &#8220;The people of Nagorno-Karabakh, which was forcibly annexed to Azerbaijan by the totalitarian regime, never put up with the status imposed on them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hostile propaganda against Armenia and the Armenians and state-supported apparent falsifications of history, which have overwhelmed Azerbaijan, coupled with the arms race and military build-up, prove that Baku is not ready for peace. It reaches a point when my Azerbaijani counterpart declares that a large part of Armenia had been donated to us by Azerbaijan, and that Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, is an Azerbaijani city. I am sure that Cyprus has dealt with a similar absurdity of history distortion.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Armenophobic and aggressive stance of Azerbaijan reinforces our conviction that Nagorno-Karabakh has no future within Azerbaijan. Moreover, Azerbaijan has no legal, political, or moral grounds for aspirations regarding Nagorno-Karabakh.
