To do it from outside in such a way that millions of people come onto the street for no reason is simply impossible, said Caucasus Institute Director Alexander Iskandaryan at a press conference in Yerevan today.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of owner of now off-the-air ALM TV, People&#8217;s Party of Armenia leader Tigran Karapetyan&#8217;s rallies, Iskandaryan said, &#8220;The current situation in Armenia creates the possibility of bringing serious numbers of people out into the streets for almost any occasion. We knew that without Mr. Karapetyan.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Asked whether citizens who attend opposition leader Levon Ter-Petrossian&#8217;s rally also participate in Karapetyan&#8217;s rallies, Iskandaryan said in any election, &#8220;a new force appears out of nowhere.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This testifies to the fact that people have social discontents. It isn&#8217;t organized and has no political expression. Which is why a certain number of people are behind each new [political] force,&#8221; he explained.<\/p>\n<p>According to the analyst, Armenian National Congress leader Levon Ter-Petrossian &#8220;explained the protesting sentiments very well, basically saying, I myself am a complaint, I am discontent.&#8221; Karapetyan, of course, is unable to gain such a victory since there are no elections, believes the Caucasus Institute director.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Ter-Petrossian rally are clearly concentrated. The people who stand there, I know them by face. They are truly supporters of this opposition force. But those rallies that Karapetyan organizes are of a different nature, and gather quite a specific array.
