{"id":62479,"date":"2011-02-04T11:10:21","date_gmt":"2011-02-04T07:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=62479"},"modified":"2011-02-04T11:10:21","modified_gmt":"2011-02-04T07:10:21","slug":"turkish-armenian-musicians-remember-hrant-dink-at-us-concert","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/02\/04\/turkish-armenian-musicians-remember-hrant-dink-at-us-concert.html","title":{"rendered":"Turkish, Armenian Musicians Remember Hrant Dink at US Concert"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Young Turkish and Armenian musicians gave a friendship concert in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, reports News.az, citing TurkishNY.<\/p>\n<p>Turkish and Armenian musicians performed works of Ahmet Adnan Saygun, Edgar Manas, Dikran Cuhaciyan and dedicated the song &#8220;Sari Gelin&#8221; to slain Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink.<\/p>\n<p>Ayse Taspinar played the piano, Petros Boyajyan played the violin and Garineh Avakian was the soprano performer in the concert.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Sharing cultural heritage is the best way to understand each other, learn from each other, and to get closer to our friends,&#8221; Turkey&#8217;s Ambassador to the United States Namik Tan said during the concert at his residence.<\/p>\n<p>Tan said he had invited the Armenian ambassador to the concert; however, the envoy did not attend the concert<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We lived side-by-side with these people for a few thousand years.
