{"id":66180,"date":"2011-02-14T14:19:32","date_gmt":"2011-02-14T10:19:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=66180"},"modified":"2011-02-14T14:20:31","modified_gmt":"2011-02-14T10:20:31","slug":"another-non-combat-death-in-armenias-army","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/02\/14\/another-non-combat-death-in-armenias-army.html","title":{"rendered":"Another Non-Combat Death in Armenia&#8217;s Army"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A young Armenian conscript died in one of the military units in Stepanakert, the capital of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, on Feb. 12.<\/p>\n<p>RA Ministry of Defense investigation department chief Mary Sargsyan told Epress.am that a criminal case has been launched under Article 110 Section 1 of the RA Criminal Code: &#8220;Causing somebody to commit suicide or make an attempt at a suicide by indirect willfulness or by negligence, by means of threat, cruel treatment or regular humiliation of one\u2019s dignity, is punished with imprisonment for the term of up to 3 years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The dead soldier, Torgom Sarukhanyan, was called to compulsory service in 2009.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, on Feb. 6, in one of the military units toward the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army\u2019s southern position, contract soldier Gevorg Andranik Kotinyan, 18, died as a result of &#8220;an emergency incident,&#8221; according to a statement issued by the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army press department.
