Armenia’s former foreign minister Vartan Oskanian doesn’t do Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharian’s bidding. Oskanian said this himself today at the first discussion of a new series by the Civilitas Foundation called One Hundred Questions and Answers. Armenia’s former foreign minister, as well as the founder of the Civilitas Foundation, was addressing rumors that the activities of his organization are run by Kocharian.<\/p>\n
“I’ve worked with Robert Kocharian for 10 years; before that, I had connections [with him]. Our relations are based on mutual respect and trust,” he said, adding that the friendly ties are maintained even today, though he has no connection whatsoever with his activities.<\/p>\n
“That’s a primitive assumption. People judge with what they know, because they don’t have independence,” he said.<\/p>\n
Oskanian declined to comment on speculations of Kocharian’s return to politics: “You have to ask him about that.”<\/p>\n
The Civilitas Foundation founder also stated he hasn’t currently decided about his participation in the upcoming parliamentary or presidential elections. In his words, that will depend on future political developments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
