{"id":78858,"date":"2011-03-24T10:29:25","date_gmt":"2011-03-24T06:29:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=78858"},"modified":"2011-03-24T11:04:53","modified_gmt":"2011-03-24T07:04:53","slug":"raffi-hovannisian-didnt-get-the-care-package-sent-by-hhk-mp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/03\/24\/raffi-hovannisian-didnt-get-the-care-package-sent-by-hhk-mp.html","title":{"rendered":"Raffi Hovannisian Didn&#8217;t Get the Care Package Sent by HHK MP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The food sent by Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) MP Vazgen Karakhanyan did not reach Heritage Party leader Raffi Hovannisian, who&#8217;s been on a hunger strike in Liberty Square since Mar. 15.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Epress.am, Heritage Party MP Armen Martirosyan said that Karakhanyan&#8217;s statement that he sent cheese, bread, sausages and tomatoes to Hovannisian is simply not true.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Probably those who delivered the food given by Karakhanyan sent it to a different address and told Karakhanyan that they sent it here. No one&#8217;s brought any such thing here,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Heritage Party MP Larisa Alaverdyan, in turn, said this too is the first time she&#8217;s hearing about this, and when Epress.am informed her that Karakhanyan characterized his move as a humanitarian gesture, she said:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If one did such a thing, then that&#8217;s not a humanitarian, but a cannibalistic gesture.&#8221; [Her statement in Armenian was a play on words, which literally translates to &#8220;not a man-loving, but a man-eating gesture&#8221;.]\n<p>As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2011\/03\/23\/armenian-mp-sends-food-to-hunger-striking-party-leader\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">previously reported<\/span><\/strong><\/a>, Karakhanyan, responding to a journalist&#8217;s question as to whether he&#8217;d gone to visit Hovannisian, said, \u201cTo tell the truth, I haven\u2019t gone, but I\u2019ve sent foodstuffs; he refused to accept them.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The journalist then asked, why did Karakhanyan send food to someone on a hunger strike: was he trying to tempt him?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, of course, no.
