{"id":80581,"date":"2011-03-30T14:02:20","date_gmt":"2011-03-30T09:02:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=80581"},"modified":"2011-03-30T14:03:37","modified_gmt":"2011-03-30T09:03:37","slug":"armavia-insists-flights-not-cancelled-or-delayed-despite-zvartnots-flight-schedule","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/03\/30\/armavia-insists-flights-not-cancelled-or-delayed-despite-zvartnots-flight-schedule.html","title":{"rendered":"Armavia Insists Flights Not Cancelled or Delayed, Despite Zvartnots Flight Schedule"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Armavia responded to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2011\/03\/30\/armavia-delays-cancels-number-of-yerevan-flights\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">reports in local media<\/span><\/strong><\/a> that the national air carrier recently had delayed its Yerevan-Rome, Yerevan\u2013Rostov-on-Don, Yerevan-Tehran and Yerevan-Deli flights and cancelled its Yerevan-Munich-Yerevan and Rome-Yerevan flights.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Zvartnots airport online flight schedule, Armavia flights U8 508 Yerevan-Moscow (Domodedovo), which was supposed to depart at 2:50 am, as well as flight U8 315 Yerevan-Amman (set to depart at 9:10 am) Wednesday were cancelled. In addition, an Armavia flight to Russia&#8217;s Rostov-on-Don (Rostov-na-Donu) departed at 7 am today \u2014 after a 20-hour delay.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the site had noted that another Yerevan-Moscow (Domodedovo airport) flight, scheduled for 9:45 am, was delayed by 3 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Armavia press spokesperson Nana Avetisova, in response to a request by Epress.am, issued a statement in which it said that Yerevan-Munich flights are not due to launch till Apr. 21, while the Yerevan-Rome flight is due to take off today.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The remaining flights listed on the flight schedule have taken off on time. The Yerevan-Rome flight is delayed because two of our aircraft are currently being repaired. One airplane is on a one-week business trip to Seychelles, while the other is malfunctioning. Another plane which was being repaired is set to return today. After this, there will be no delays in flights,&#8221; reads the press statement.<\/p>\n<p>Recall, on Mar. 16, Armavia delayed its flights by one hour in protest against high prices set by Yerevan&#8217;s Zvartnots international airport.<\/p>\n<p>On that day, Avetisova <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2011\/03\/16\/armavia-delays-all-flights-because-of-enemies-of-the-homeland\/\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>informed the press<\/strong><\/span><\/a> that \u201cZvartnots\u2019 airport services are three times more expensive than Moscow airports and on average two times more expensive than in Europe (1.5 times more expensive than Paris airports; 2.5 times more than in Rome).\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2011\/03\/16\/armavia-delays-all-flights-because-of-enemies-of-the-homeland\/\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Earlier<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, Armenia International Airports press spokesperson Gevorg Abrahamyan accused Armavia of unpaid taxes. For this reason, the Yerevan-Moscow flight was delayed.
