{"id":82582,"date":"2011-04-06T12:47:21","date_gmt":"2011-04-06T07:47:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=82582"},"modified":"2011-04-06T12:50:20","modified_gmt":"2011-04-06T07:50:20","slug":"75-year-old-woman-who-shut-off-armenias-internet-might-get-1%e2%80%933-years-in-prison","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/04\/06\/75-year-old-woman-who-shut-off-armenias-internet-might-get-1%e2%80%933-years-in-prison.html","title":{"rendered":"75-Year-Old Woman Who Shut Off Armenia&#8217;s Internet Might Get 1\u20133 Years in Prison"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 75-year-old citizen of Georgia left Armenia without Internet for a few hours, reports Business Gruzya (&#8220;Business of Georgia&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>The woman has pleaded guilty to damaging the Telecom Railways fiber-optic cable line that supplies internet to Armenia and part of Georgia, which left some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2011\/03\/29\/no-internet-in-armenia-because-of-accident-in-georgia\/\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">without Internet on Mar. 28<\/span><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The elderly woman said she was searching for copper in the region of Mtskheta-Mtianeti. In the process of excavation, she damaged the cable, said chief of Georgia&#8217;s Ministry of Internal Affairs press service Zurab Gvenetadze.<\/p>\n<p>The woman had no accomplices, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Almost immediately, security staff arrived on scene and arrested the woman.
