The article &#8220;They Destroy Kocharian, Explain to Tsarukyan?&#8221; published on Feb. 12\twas the basis for initiating legal proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>According to Soghomonyan, papers writing about the Kocharian family is nothing new and a lawsuit is being launched when the report contains obviously false information.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Whilst this there&#8217;s been three court actions: there have been lawsuits against Haykakan Jamanak [&#8220;Armenian Times&#8221;], Jamanak [&#8220;Times&#8221;] and now Hraparak \u2014 obviously false information was printed in these newspapers. And if the words &#8216;bloodthirsty,&#8217; &#8216;stilyaga&#8217; and &#8216;a repulsive life buried in blood&#8217; are not insulting for average people, well then I have nothing to discuss with them,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to journalists Thursday, Hraparak chief editor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2011\/04\/07\/avoid-words-bloodthirsty-and-stilyaga-editors-become-censors\/\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Armine Ohanyan had said<\/strong><\/span><\/a> that it doesn\u2019t matter how much the media defends journalistic ethics and norms. \u201cIn one case, the judicial process is aimed at retracting the information; in other cases, it is aimed at the insulting, defamatory article. Moreover, by saying \u2018insult,\u2019 different people understand different things. In one case, the word \u2018bloodthirsty\u2019 is an insulting expression [see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2011\/04\/06\/kocharian-lawyers-defend-fresh-libel-suit\/\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>here<\/strong><\/span><\/a>], while in another, the word \u2018<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stilyaga\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000080;\">stilyaga<\/span><\/strong><\/a>\u2018 is insulting [seen in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2011\/02\/25\/armenian-mp-sues-yet-another-local-newspaper\/\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Yerkir vs. MP Tigran Arzakantsyan<\/strong><\/span><\/a>].\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/en\/2011\/04\/05\/courts-as-means-of-getting-even-no-distorted-facts-in-article-on-kocharian-expert-says\/\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>previously reported<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, Committee to Protect Freedom of Expression (CPFE) Chair Ashot Melikyan had said he read the article in question and was unable to find any grounds for a libel suit.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There are the journalist\u2019s judgements, with which one can agree or not, but there are no distorted facts.
