{"id":86078,"date":"2011-04-15T14:59:06","date_gmt":"2011-04-15T09:59:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=86078"},"modified":"2011-04-15T14:59:06","modified_gmt":"2011-04-15T09:59:06","slug":"worlds-oldest-man-dies-in-montana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/04\/15\/worlds-oldest-man-dies-in-montana.html","title":{"rendered":"World&#8217;s Oldest Man Dies in Montana"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A 114-year-old retired railroad worker who is reputed to be the the world&#8217;s oldest living man (and the second-oldest person) died of natural causes on Thursday in the farming community of Great Falls, Montana.<\/p>\n<p>Walter Breuning, who had lived in a local nursing home since 1980, was declared oldest man on July 18, 2009, by the Guinness Book of World Records, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/2011\/04\/15\/us-death-oldest-idUSTRE73E0RZ20110415\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Reuters reports<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Breuning was born September 21, 1896, in Melrose, Minnesota, and spent most of his early life in South Dakota before taking a job with the Great Northern Railway in 1913, according to the Rainbow Senior Living retirement home in Great Falls.<\/p>\n<p>He moved to Montana in 1918 to clerk for the railway and married Agnes Twokey, a telegraph operator, four years later.<\/p>\n<p>He retired from the railroad at age 66.
