{"id":91744,"date":"2011-05-02T16:35:13","date_gmt":"2011-05-02T11:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=91744"},"modified":"2011-05-02T16:35:38","modified_gmt":"2011-05-02T11:35:38","slug":"bbc-editor-gets-reprimand-for-smutty-royal-wedding-tweets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/05\/02\/bbc-editor-gets-reprimand-for-smutty-royal-wedding-tweets.html","title":{"rendered":"BBC Editor Gets Reprimand for Smutty Royal Wedding Tweets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BBC business editor Robert Peston has received a dressing down from his bosses for making remarks on Twitter about William and Kate having sex, reports <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-1382585\/BBCs-Robert-Peston-tweets-Kate-Middleton-Prince-William-having-sex.html\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>the Daily Mail<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Peston, one of many celebrities and media figures commenting on the Royal Wedding, told his 31,000 Twitter followers: &#8220;The really important thing about this truly magical day is they can have sex at last.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Executives at the corporation considered the tweet to be &#8220;hugely inappropriate,&#8221; according to sources, and ordered Peston to remove it.<\/p>\n<p>He also made a series of other comments which might be considered disrespectful.<\/p>\n<p>In one, he said: &#8220;Bit worried about the new princess. Plainly didn\u2019t read her BBC health and safety manual. Too much waving. Big RSI risk.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In another, he asked what the collective noun was for Royal pundits, naming Simon Schama, Andrew Roberts and Andrew Morton.<\/p>\n<p>He tweeted: &#8220;The correct answer, as students of constitutional history will know, is \u201ca lickspittle\u201d.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>In a tweet which might be seen as patronizing, he wrote: &#8220;My favourite moment in a magical morning was when Sky News told us that Her Majesty knows the name of every one of the horses.
