Earlier today, Vahagn Hayotsyan, the executive secretary of the opposition Pan-Armenian National Movement party, submitted a request to Yerevan City Hall to hold a rally in Liberty Square on May 31, followed by a march on the following route: Mashtots Ave. \u2013 Amiryan St. \u2013 Republic Square \u2013 Nalbandyan St. \u2013 Tumanyan St. \u2013 Liberty Square, Armenian National Congress (HAK) representative Tigran Arakelyan told Epress.am.<\/p>\n
“According to the law, there has to be a discussion within a 72-hour period, after which the municipality has to make a decision whether to approve or deny the request,” he said.<\/p>\n
Recall, for three years, the opposition bloc has been prohibited from holding rallies in Liberty Square \u2014 each time having its request denied.
