{"id":95133,"date":"2011-05-13T16:19:17","date_gmt":"2011-05-13T11:19:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.epress.am\/?p=95133"},"modified":"2011-05-13T16:30:44","modified_gmt":"2011-05-13T11:30:44","slug":"tree-cutting-resumes-to-make-way-for-another-building-in-yerevan-neighborhood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/epress.am\/en\/2011\/05\/13\/tree-cutting-resumes-to-make-way-for-another-building-in-yerevan-neighborhood.html","title":{"rendered":"Tree Cutting Resumes to Make Way for Another Building in Yerevan Neighborhood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Despite protests from residents, trees once again were being cut down this morning in the area near the residential buildings of 5 Komitas Ave. in Yerevan where a high-voltage power station is also situated.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Epress.am, Gohar, a resident of 5a Komitas, said how they were surprised to find certain activities taking place near the power station this morning.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That station has been here for about 50 years. A few months ago, Liber LLC wanted to tear it down, to move it closer to the buildings and build a high-rise building in its place. But as a result of our complaints, these plans were stopped since, to put it mildly, it&#8217;s dangerous to move a power station with such high voltage closer to residential buildings,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Gohar mentioned that Liber representatives today approached residents with a document allowing construction to continue dated earlier than the one that stopped the construction.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Now they&#8217;re asking us to show them the [paper with the] decision to stop [construction].
