The military cooperation between Georgia and Armenia under the present circumstances, about which the Armenian press writes, is unlikely, especially without Georgia consulting Azerbaijan, said director of the International Center on Conflict and Negotiation (ICCN), Dr. Giorgi (George) Khutsishvili, commenting Georgian defense minister Bacho Akhalaia’s visit to Armenia in an interview with Vesti.az.
According to Georgian experts, Azerbaijan is Georgia’s strategic partner and therefore separate deals between Tbilisi and Yerevan behind Baku’s back are unlikely.
“I think that simply an exchange of views took place during Bacho Akhalaia’s visit to Armenia. It’s unlikely that Georgia will assist with arms to Armenia in the event of renewed hostilities between Azerbaijan and Armenia,” he said.
