No Need for Mediator Between Armenian National Congress and the Authorities: HAK
The Armenian National Congress issued a statement yesterday in which it responded to Armenian Ombudsman Karen Andreasyan's proposal to act as mediator between the opposition bloc and the ruling authorities:
"1. The Human Rights Defender misunderstood the meaning of dialogue, since the issue refers not to dialogue between the Congress and the parliamentary coalition, but to dialogue between the Congress and the current authorities.
"2. There is a need for neither an internal nor an external mediator in the format of direct dialogue between the authorities and the Congress.
"3. And if the authorities consider it appropriate to include the Human Rights Defender in its delegation during negotiations, we have no problem ."
