The Yerevan-based emergency ambulance services company receives about 500 calls a day from residents of the Armenian capital, company director Dr. Taguhi Stepanyan told Epress.am today.
Dr. Stepanyan noted that there hasn’t been a significant change in the number of calls as compared to the same period last year.
“The calls are mainly connected to vascular issues, hypertension and chronic illnesses. They’re basically the same calls that we constantly service,” she said.
Dr. Stepanyan advised ill, as well as healthy, people to avoid direct sunlight, staying in the shade or at home or at work.
“During these hot days, it’s necessary to consume lots of liquids, as well as fruit and food containing liquid, to avoid consuming heavy foods and even keep a certain diet. The dangerous times for [being under] the sun are between 1 and 5 pm,” she said.
