Local Daily Reports on Armenia Players’ Bonuses After Victory over Macedonia

For their victory in the Euro 2012 qualifier against Macedonia, Armenian national football team players each received a bonus of $20,000 USD, reports local daily Haykakan Jamanak (“Armenian Times”).

According to the paper, Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan (pictured) donated $5,000 USD of his bonus to the employees of the Avan Football Academy — from the security guard all the way up to the director.

“This was described by one of the academy’s employees, who particularly wanted to emphasize Mkhitaryan’s [good] deed. 22-year-old Henrikh expressed his gratitude to those who from morning to night do everything and create all the conditions for the players of our team and they do so whole-heartedly, believing in the possibilities of our team,” writes Haykakan Jamanak.
