Car with Azerbaijan Plates Driving Around in Yerevan Belonged to Chinese Embassy

The car with Azerbaijan plates driving around Yerevan recently belonged to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Baku, reads an official statement issued by the Armenian State Revenue Committee.

“In connection with recent reports published by several electronic media, we declare that the automobile with Azerbaijan-issued license plate P0011461 referred to in the reports was imported into the Republic of Armenia on Oct. 21, 2011, at the Bagratashen customs point, according to the 2011/33/43704 transport bulletin.

“The vehicle in Azerbaijan belonged to the Chinese embassy. It was removed from registration in the export country, then imported into the Republic of Armenia by the Chinese embassy in order to terminate registration. If necessary, the Committee is prepared to provide also a copy of the transport summary,” reads the statement.
