West Hollywood’s City Council voted Monday to approve a modified version of the ban on fur sales they gave initial approval to in September, the Los Angeles Times reports.
City officials made changes to the ordinance to address concerns from some business groups. The modified ban includes exemptions for sales of used fur products and sales by nonprofits.
The ban must now return for one final vote. If passed, it will take effect Sept. 21, 2013.
The most recent version of the ban passed 3-1 with Abbe Land abstaining and John Heilman casting the dissenting vote. It will likely return for a final vote Nov. 21.
