Non-Coalition Parties Preparing for Motion of No Confidence in Armenian Government

Non-coalition parliamentary forces — the Armenian National Congress (HAK), Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnaktsutyun, or ARF-D), and Heritage Party — are expected to meet today to discuss the next steps in their joint struggle, reports local daily Zhoghovurd.

According to the newspaper's sources, the four parliamentary factions in the near future are preparing to make a motion of no confidence in the government, but they will take this step not at the parliamentary four-day session beginning on Feb. 3, but later.

The parties' experts are currently at work on the necessary documents. They plan to base the no-confidence motion on the failures in all areas under the government's jurisdiction: increased emigration, poverty, and unemployment; collapse of the economy; decrease in investments; gas contracts; and so on.
