Armenia's Ministry of Health has recently signed agreements worth 134 million drams with 25 medical institutions on the provision of state-guaranteed free healthcare and services for socially vulnerable groups, Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper writes, stressing that the most of the money was distributed among medical centers with links to former and current high-ranking state officials.
“According to the contracts' appendices, the largest portion of the money – 24 million drams – will be allocated to 'Vardanants' medical center, which belongs to the 'ARINTERLEV' LLC founded by health minister Levon Altunyan.
“23 million drams was allocated to 'Nairi' medical center, which, for its part, belongs to 'ARMAMAX'' LLC, a company with links to former health minister Harutyun Kushkyan.
“The third largest allocation – 10 million drams – was made to 'Izmiryan' medical center, which is associated with another former health minister Armen Muradyan and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II,” the daily reports, citing the interactive budget on Armenian government's official website.
