Another Car Belonging to Opposition Activist Vandalized

Member of the Pre-Parliament civic initiative and the pressure group “Let’s liberate the monument from the oligarch” Karo Yeghnukyan’s second vehicle was vandalized on the night of Oct. 17.  Recall, the tires of Yeghnukyan’s first car were slashed on Oct. 15 during a protest outside Yerevan City supermarket on Komitas Ave. in Yerevan.

The vehicle in question was parked in the residential building’s courtyard last night.

Pre-Parliament members informed Epress.am that this time the front part of the car and the side mirrors were damaged.

A statement released by the group states that it believes that members of Yerevan City owner, MP Samvel Aleksanyan’s entourage are reponsible for causing the damage.

“Moreover, the incident is shaping up to be among a series of planned terrorist acts against Karo Yeghnukyan and his family.

“Pre-Parliament’s secretariat has reasonable doubt that all this is being done by the direct sponsorship and guidance of the state administration, by way of the general prosecutor’s office and the police. This is evidenced by Samvel Aleksanyan’s entourage’s  acts of inciting and spreading hate and animosity, unrestricted, for weeks on end against Karo Yeghnukyan, as well as threats to their implementation and steps to damage his property, as well as the general prosecutor’s and police’s criminal indifference and inaction toward these, which is manifested also in the refusal  based on absurd justifications of the need to ensure the safety of Karo Yeghnukyan and his family,” reads the statement, in part.
