Gay Community Votes Peugeot RCZ as Car of the Year

We don’t think the implication is that this award is for the car which is most gay, rather the car the gay community voted as their Car of the Year. We’re also not too sure that being gay makes a blind bit of difference to which cars you find most appealing. We can’t see any discernible difference in car tastes based on the sexuality of friends, so we’re not sure we see the point of a Gay Car of the Year Award, write the authors of CarsUK.net.

Ledorga – a site for gay vintage car enthusiasts from all over Europe – has run a Gay Car of the Year poll since 2005, with diverse winners from the Aston Martin DB9 to the Fiat 500. This year it was a tussle between two French cars – the Peugeot RCZ and the Citroen DS3.

Ledorga’s readers picked the Peugeot RCZ – but only just. The RCZ beat the Citroen DS3 by 450 points to 449. We’d have turned the result round and made the Citroen DS3 our car of the year, but we take our hats off to Ledorga’s readers – their Car of the Year winner is a more convincing result than just about any other we’ve seen.

Ledorga’s readers are obviously more clued-up on what makes a great car than the juries of ‘experts’ many other Car of the Year polls use.
