Azerbaijani-Armenians’ problems, just as they’ve been ignored, continue to remain ignored, said former foreign affairs minister of Nagorno-Karabakh (NKR) Arman Melikyan, speaking to journalists in Yerevan today.
According to him, the blame can be placed on the US and the Russians, but never on Armenia’s governing authorities, though it is as a result of their inconsistency, that is, their lack of monitoring the situation, that these problems continue to be ignored. Melikyan insists that the “liberated territories” must be given to Azerbaijani-Armenian refugees with the right of ownership.
“The problems of Armenians from Nakhichevan and Azerbaijan can be resolved within our capabilities. Armenian society should understand that Azerbaijani-Armenians’ issue is also an issue of our national security,” he said.
Speaking as well about the Karabakh conflict, Melikyan said that Armenia’s ruling authorities are subject to foreign pressure and don’t have the solution to the issue.
