Armenian MP Met with Yerevan Street Vendors. Next Protest Venue Decided

Heritage Party MP Zaruhi Postanjyan today met with Yerevan street traders in her party’s offices and discussed their concerns and future steps.

Recall, for nearly a month, street vendors have been protesting the Yerevan mayor’s ban on street trade: they’ve held demonstrations in front of Yerevan City Hall, the National Assembly and the president’s residence.

Speaking to Epress.am, Postanjyan said the discussion with the street vendors was organizational in nature and quite constructive.

“The street traders decided to elect coordinators from among them and to organize their activities,” she said.

The Member of Parliament also informed Epress.am that the group’s next protest is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 14 at 12 pm, in front of the public radio building.

“These people have also initiated a petition with which they’ll present their demands and ultimatum to RA authorities. On the day of the protest, they’ll formulate and present their demand to public radio,” she said.
